IEC PAC-supported Members Introduce Resolutions
Revoking Harmful Labor Policies
Recently, members of Congress supported by IEC PAC introduced resolutions which would revoke rules implemented by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Reps. Lloyd Smucker (R-PA) and Virginia Foxx (R-NC) introduced legislation that invalidates DOL’s rules revising Davis-Bacon while Rep. John James (R-MI) and Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) introduced resolutions to rescind the NLRB’s joint employer rule. These resolutions trigger the Congressional Review Act process which, if passed by Congress and signed by the president, forbids regulatory agencies from enacting substantially similar rules in the future.
Third Party Candidates Seek to Upend Presidential Election — Poll
With Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) recently announcing his retirement from the Senate and researching a possible bid for the highest office, next year’s presidential election could have as many as four additional candidates on the ballot in addition to the Republican and Democrat nominees. Assuming Donald Trump and Joe Biden are the ultimate nominees, IEC wants to know your opinion on the impact, if any, these third-party candidates will have on the election.
